Summer Fun...

Summer is flying by....tomatoes are coming in slowly...but a few qts. have been canned and a few spaghetti sauce this week...peas to shell...not to mention picking...okra to cut and put in the freezer...delicious summer meals...corn is ready for harvest...

We need rain...the fields are dry...the animals all seem to keep me busy...making sure they have water and feed....The Dutchess...our royal palm turkey...snuck off and made herself a nest...hatched 7 little turks and two guineas...She seems to be making a good little momma...although she lost one on her rounds today...I heard, Cheep...cheep...cheep from under the deck...I saw it under the boards but could not coax it out...finally when Richie came home he lifted the deck up so we could look under...but by that time...the little guy had moved out and under the fig tree...so we chased back to his mom past the old shop he decided to take a detour in...Hope he keeps up with his mom tomorrow as they go out on their scratch and peck rounds...

Oh...and our 3 little piggies...have their own Charlotte...web...and all... seems mostly to post ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ on her spider blog...as piggies love taking naps in the hot summer days....

Summer is flying by...school begins next week...and although the heat of summer will linger...and summer chores persists...school bells will ring for the kiddos...
