Earl Cheal: Since hearing the presentation by the homeopathic doctor at one of our earlier meetings, I have been using honey for many of my aliments with success. I have used it to treat: spider bite (I think that is what bit me). chigger bites, skinned fingers, torn fingernail down into the quick with success. I am also experimenting with honey on my fungus toenail. I apply some each night and it appears that it is working. However, it will be months before I will know for certain.

Tilling the Garden...

The big garden was full of weeds and left over summer crops...so it was time to till it under and let the old vegetation decay and enrich the soil... We hope to find a good source of mulch to add to it during the winter months to help with the weed problem in the summer.   We also want to get a few greens planted for harvest later this fall and well...I can't get a big tiller in the raised bed garden right now... It's got a lot of elbow grease work to do yet...so I'm gonna plant those greens along a big wide row in the big garden.   Hopefully I have enough guineas penned up they wont eat every turnip green sprout as they appear from the earth.  Don't tell anyone, but it was fun driving the tractor...LOL...

Here's the link to some other pictures... I just like putting them in here so you can see a slide show too...I haven't figured out how to embed the slide show in the blog, so for now...just follow the link if you'd like to see the pictures.  Oh...and can you find Miss Scarlet in a picture...somehow she always finds a spot to take a pose...

ok so I am in the frying pan. I grabbed the tractor from Ginger and was tilling under the Okra and pea rows over by the little garden and I spied the old Cactus plant by the chicken yard. This ole cactus and I have been battling all summer. Everytime I turn around it wants to stick me in the leg or in the derrier and you just can't pull those quills out. So anyway, I backed the old tractor up to it with the tiller engaged in the up position and chop, chop, chop goes Mr Cactus. Then I look back and there is this big pile of Cactus pieces on the ground so I turn the tractor around and start to scoop up the pieces with the front loader. Well this makes the whole cactus plant kind of lay over. Then up walks Ginger. She wasn't too happy. I figured I would rather face an old mama hen then her. She came up and fussed at me for a bit like an old mama hen. Then I headed off to put the tractor back on the trailer. Time for dinner for me. I sure was hungry. I am so glad Ginger is so sweet that she made me some stuffed green peppers for dinner...Whew! and I didn't even have to eat in the dog house! YUM YUM P.S. If any one wants a cactus clipping...we have plenty...LOL...

We'll the old cactus was getting a bit overgrown for the area...but it did look soooooo pitiful... the side all chopped off and then...well the rest just kind of fell to the side...hopefully it will stand back up on it's own with a little sunshine...Poor old cactus...
